The new Teutonia IV Big Date Edition 1994

The Teutonia is not only an elegant business watch but also a timeless classic of the Mühle collection. As the fourth anniversary edition, we present the Teutonia IV Big Date Edition 1994, featuring an in-house developed movement module making its debut in the MU9424-GD.

The first model in our elegant family of watches was simply named “Teutonia” in 2002. Since then, these timepieces have become an unmistakable flagship for Mühle-Glashütte. As the highlight of our anniversary year, the Teutonia IV Big Date Edition 1994, with 155 pieces per dial color, now forms the centerpiece of the “Edition 1994.”

The two models of the Teutonia IV Big Date Edition 1994 feature a stainless steel case with a 41-millimeter diameter. The midsection, typical of the Teutonia, not only boasts the characteristic vertical finish, crafted meticulously by hand, but also the volute-shaped lugs. The upper surfaces of the lugs, as well as the bezel, are finely polished, giving the case a varied surface design and showcasing the impressive attention to detail with which the Teutonia is developed and manufactured at Mühle-Glashütte.

The case houses an anthracite-blue dial with a horizontal structure, as well as an ice-blue dial with a fine sunray finish. The big date display is positioned at 6 o’clock on both dial variants, made possible by a newly designed in-house module making its debut in the Mühle movement MU9424-GD.

The Big Date Display from Mühle-Glashütte

The new modular movement “MU9424-GD” is the first Mühle movement featuring an in-house developed big date module, enabling a large-format date display through a specially designed units ring and tens star. The in-house module is flexibly positionable, which allowed the big date to be placed at 6 o’clock on both dial variants. High-quality, newly developed components—from the module plate to the smallest click and click spring—ensure the precise display of the date digits. Complemented by Mühle’s woodpecker neck regulation and the Mühle rotor, the automatic movement achieves a significant level of manufacturing depth.

Attention to detail

In addition to the distinctive positioning of the big date, it is noteworthy that the watches no longer feature a small seconds display but instead, in line with the straightforward and modern appearance of the Teutonia IV, have a central seconds display.

Above the highly legible big date display, three fine, polished nickel-plated hands sweep gracefully. With perfectly balanced lengths and proportions, the lance-shaped hands point to a precisely drawn minute track with small second and minute numerals.

Anniversary features

In line with this year’s double anniversary, the number 30 on the minute track is highlighted in the luminous Mühle anniversary blue, while the number 55 is replaced by 155. Special anniversary features can also be found on the back of the Teutonia IV Big Date Edition 1994. The new Mühle movement MU9424-GD can be admired through a wide exhibition case back with sapphire crystal. The first eye-catching detail is the special Mühle rotor, featuring a gold-colored 30-year anniversary logo. Even the movement holder of the new caliber is worth noting, as it is finished with a fine polish that showcases the gold-colored engravings of the caliber and module designations with finesse.
