Nautical virtues
Precision. Reliability. Excellent legibility.
Our Quartz Marine Chronometer is an instrument for professional maritime use. After its design in 1994, it was tested by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency in Hamburg and far exceeded the requirements of DIN 8319 for chronometers.
Elaborate technology
Outstanding timekeeping accuracy
The highest precision is ensured through meticulously crafted mechanical components. In addition, the movement is equipped with reliable electronics. It features a specially selected, artificially aged, and temperature-stabilized 4.19 MHz quartz oscillator. This allows the Quartz Marine Chronometer to achieve a timekeeping accuracy of under 0.01 seconds per day.
Universal Time Coordinated
5 minutes more
At sea, a marine chronometer displays the Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) needed for navigation. To ensure this remains accurate even during a battery change, the Quartz Marine Chronometer continues running for at least 5 minutes without interruption, even without a battery. Therefore, no re-setting of the time is required.
Modernized design
Clear dial
The dial of the Quartz Marine Chronometer Edition 1994 has been redesigned. On the cream-white background, there is a Mühle-blue minute scale, with extended double indices at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock. Small minute numbers are placed around the outer edge.
The Edition 1994
Anniversary features
In celebration of the anniversary, the minute number 30 is highlighted with a golden color, while the number 55 is replaced with "155" to honor the 155-year tradition of entrepreneurship in Glashütte. Following the historical design, the limited edition number is placed within the small seconds subdial. It is displayed in gold, just like the gold-plated hands.
Limited to 30 pieces
