It owes its name to high-precision marine chronometers – and its current fame to high-quality mechanical wristwatches: in 1994, Hans-Jürgen Mühle founded our family business as “Mühle-Glashütte GmbH nautische Instrumente und Feinmechanik”. We will celebrate this appropriately in our anniversary year 2024.
Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte is based on a tradition that is as eventful as it is moving. Our family business was founded by my father in 1994. However, our family has been anchored in the Glashütte watch industry for much longer – since 1869 to be precise.
I am very proud to have been managing director of Mühle-Glashütte since 2007 – now in the 5th generation. The fact that this is possible today is thanks to every single generation of our family business. Courageous company founders and far-sighted leaders were needed to keep adapting the company to new economic and technical challenges.
In this anniversary year, we are therefore not only celebrating the 30th anniversary of Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte, but also the past and, above all, future tradition of our independent family business. Because we are aware of its historical significance and social responsibility for our home town of Glashütte.
To mark the 30th anniversary of Nautische Instrumente Mühle-Glashütte, we have developed a logo to mark special watches and promotions in the anniversary year. We would like to present it to you today.
